Originating from Mexican and Ecuadorian traditions, the "Closing the Bones" ceremony is a sacred postpartum ritual designed to support the physical and emotional healing of new mothers. This ritual not only symbolizes the restoration and nurturing of the mother's body but also addresses the spiritual dimensions of childbirth. Traditionally, the ceremony involves a series of techniques such as massage, wrapping, and gentle rocking with rebozos (traditional Mexican shawls), aimed at guiding the body back to its pre-pregnancy state by closing the pelvic area and realigning the uterus and pelvic bones. In my personalized approach to this ceremony, I integrate various spiritual practices to further nourish and support the mother's healing journey. This includes card reading for reflection and guidance, intuitive writing for emotional release, and the burning of written fears to symbolize letting go of anxieties and concerns. Additionally, when compatible with breastfeeding, I offer a nurturing cacao drink, known for its heart-opening and healing properties.
